ketirra | NaNoWriMo 2011: Ketirra

So in preparation for NaNo this year, I've written up a summary for Ketirra, which I used for Pimp My Plot. Here it is:

This is the story of a world, and the six people with the power to change it. In this world, there exists beings called the Ketirra, whose power and control over the power of life known as Etre, or “essence”, is unmatched. To the common people, these Ketirrae are gods. To the Ketirrae themselves, they are only men and women chosen by the gods.

The empire of Hosia has flourished under the rule of its Ketirra. Now, a hundred years since the beginning of his reign, Yannesse vau Ketirra begins to feel the toll of both immortality and ruling an empire. He chooses to end his own reign, but first he must seek out the child who shall become his heir, the next Ketirra. At his side is a woman called Wings, his closest and most loyal companion.

Elsewhere, in the Sky Mines wherein Etre is harvested, an accident occurs that heavily injures one of the miners at work. With the mines shut down indefinitely for safety reasons, one of the miners, a boy named Rune, sets out to find his fortune by journeying across the empire. Along the way he’ll meet Naitsu, a fugitive from the capital turned rebel leader, and Kasa, a mysterious winged girl with more than a few agendas of her own.

And deep in the forests of Binyh, outside the empire of Hosia, a woman readies herself to claim revenge for her people -- the elves driven to near-extinction by none other than the Ketirra himself. And perhaps, she has an even stronger, more personal vengeance to claim.

The world is a complicated place...
